2025 has been a landmark year for Cornerstone Finance Group, with strong growth across the business and continued investment in our people, network and services.
Our turnover reached £12.712 million, up from £7.161 million in 2024, reflecting the momentum we’ve built over the past few years.
We were also proud to be recognised in the UK Fast Growth Index 2025 as one of the 50 fastest-growing businesses in Wales, a testament to the hard work of our team and the strength of our model.
Growth Across the Group
We’ve seen significant progress across all areas of the business:
- Mortgage lending increased by 104%, reaching £1.75 billion
- We protected more than 3,750 clients, a 66% increase
- Commercial lending to SMEs grew to £90 million (up 22%)
- Our Cornerstone Commercial Network expanded to 18 registered individuals
Investing in Our People and Network
This year we continued to grow our team, welcoming 13 new colleagues in Cardiff and two in Sheffield as part of our ongoing expansion.
Our adviser network also exceeded expectations. We set out to reach 250 mortgage and protection advisers in 2025, and by the end of the year we had grown to 286 – a 59% increase.
Expanding Our Reach
Our presence in Sheffield has continued to develop, strengthening our ability to support clients and advisers across a wider geographic area.
We also launched our Cornerstone podcast, creating a new platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the mortgage and protection market.
Looking Ahead
Haydn Thomas, CEO, said:
“Early last year I said we were confident of continued growth throughout 2025 as we invested in our team, our network and our partnerships, and that approach has paid off.
“2025 was another standout year for the Group and our numbers attest to this. We’re particularly pleased to have made such strong additions to our team, with recruitment into key leadership roles which is enabling us to support even more clients and network members.
“Our move into Sheffield, which started last year and which is continuing now with the ongoing expansion of our office there, means that we can grow our geographic reach.
“Our focus for the year ahead is to continue on our trajectory of sustainable growth which brings value to clients, colleagues and to our network. We have recently appointed Rebecca Miller as our new Head of HR & Operations – a key appointment to help us meet the challenges and rise to the opportunities we will encounter as a fast growth business.”
