When Jennifer Bloxsome swapped life as a construction project manager for property investment, she didn’t expect it would lead to a whole new career. But her first-hand experience of raising capital and growing a portfolio during the pandemic sparked a realisation: the best advisers often start as investors.
Building a Brokerage from the Ground Up
In 2022, while building her own property business, Jen took the leap into advice – gaining her CeMAP and later joining The Cornerstone Network. It was a fellow appointed representative who first introduced her to the Cornerstone community. The move made sense. With access to whole-of-market lending, specialist systems, and a network of like-minded advisers, she saw a way to turn her investor experience into a value-driven advice business.
She now runs a joint brand with business partner Emerald Fisk, combining their strengths as two female, active property investors with complementary styles.
“The more Emerald and I went to events, the more we realised how few advisers are also investors. There’s a real gap – and we’re proud to be filling it.”
Specialist Advice Backed by Real Experience
From bridging to buy-to-let and portfolio lending, Jen and Emerald offer hands-on insight few advisers can match. For them, being investors isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s fundamental to the relationships they build.
“This isn’t about advising someone once every few years. Property investors need regular support. You really get to know people, and that means the advice is stronger.”
Their client-first philosophy is clear. From talking protection and wills, to checking in on WhatsApp with holiday photos, this is advice built on trust and long-term relationships – not transactions.
Why Cornerstone?
For Jen, joining Cornerstone brought immediate benefits. From the simplicity of the Acre system to a supportive team structure and quick compliance responses, the difference has been clear:
“Acre, in comparison to what I was using before, is just worlds ahead. It’s fantastic.”
That technology, combined with genuine network support and the flexibility to run their business their way, has allowed Jen and Emerald to grow quickly without losing sight of what matters – doing what’s right for the client.
Looking Ahead
With plans to continue expanding their own portfolios, launch educational events, and grow their joint brand, Jen and Emerald are just getting started. They’re passionate about supporting other investors and showing that great advice comes from those who truly understand the journey.
“It’s not about being female-led – it’s about being people-first. We care. And that’s what makes the difference.”
